Greetings,

Welcome to Jasonwhiskylova! What is this blog about? The clue is in the name my friends. I’m Jason and I love my whisky. This is just my attempt to organize my thoughts and experiences pertaining to the water of life. Past a certain point I found myself forgetting my own opinion of certain malts so thought this would be a good way keep track. No grand ambitions beyond that…

I first started drinking single malt whisky in the early 1990’s. My first ever sip (barring blends with mixers which obviously don’t count) was a Glenmorangie 18 (cheers to Connor Macleod for that one) which is not a bad way to start. I then had something of a hiatus from the late 90’s to the late-00’s and slowly found my way back. At first it was a few bottles here and there for birthdays and such until last year when a mate had a spare ticket to the 2014 London Whisky Exchange show. What a day… The rest as they say is history.

I generally only drink single malt whisky (Scottish and lately Japanese) with the odd blend thrown if it’s of superior quality. The whiskies here are what I’ve sampled since I started this blog only, not the sum total of my experiences. I feel it’s unfair to review from memory. I’m going to avoid numerical ratings systems or endless lists of flavours. I’ll try and keep it short and sweet…

Sláinte!
